Compass Plus, an international provider of retail banking and electronic payments software to processors and financial institutions, was pleased to exhibit at Cards and Payments East Africa 2015, which took place 15 – 16 September 2015.

The event brought together a wealth of expert industry knowledge, insight and innovation from its 600 attendees. Pitched as the event that would be the catalyst in driving the future of payments in East Africa, Cards and Payments East Africa boasted a perfect platform to learn how to create a superior payment experience for consumers across the region. The topics covered during the event were broad; there was a strong focus on innovation and improving the customer experience alongside efforts to move away from cash and towards a mobile solution that is appealing to retailers.

Attendance to the event saw a heavy flow of traffic past the Compass Plus stand. Many visitors to the Compass Plus stand had a strong interest in card management systems, personalisation and fraud prevention. Conversations around fraud and combating the next generation of fraud were frequent across the two days in-line with the movement towards a more digital approach to banking and payments.

“There was a lot of interest in fraud detection and prevention throughout the event and Mr Avi Mitra, CIO at Kenya Commercial Bank, a customer of Compass Plus, gave an excellent presentation on how to combat the next generation of fraud in a digital age, looking at how the new payment landscape requires a revolutionised approach to fraud with an ability to remain agile and react quickly to threats. The event had a good turnout and was a great opportunity for us build strong relationships with businesses looking for specific solutions,” said Alexey Osipov, Executive VP & MEA Managing Director at Compass Plus.
